Meguiar’s Quik Detailer, the one in the red bottle, is pretty much the standard quick detailing solution – It’s likely the most popular and readily found quick detailer out there. Meg’s Quik Detailer is what pops into anyone’s mind when a quick detailer is mentioned.

Is it good then? Well of course it is!

Meg’s Quik Detailer is the no-frills detailing solution and it does its job perfectly. It is not as expensive or elaborate as Ultimate Quik Detailer yet it is good enough for any car, from daily commuter to super car.

Now, why haven’t I recommend it yet? Well, I do use it, so it makes sense that I do go ahead and recommend it. I have mentioned it before here and there, but had never dedicated an entire article to it.

Meguiar’s Quik Detailer spray performs the job of quick detailing perfectly. That job is to add some lubricity to the surface of your paint in order to aid in using microfiber towels to help lift dirt and dust off the paint without scratching it. This, if done correctly of course. Meg’s Quik Detailer performs flawlessly, smells good and it’s cheap. Well, that depends…

I’ve found myself using it less lately, for one very good reason. It’s expensive.

“But wait, you just said it wasn’t expensive and elaborate. What are you saying now?”

Here’s the thing… It is one of the least expensive quick detailers out there in that you can buy a 16 oz bottle for around $5.00 just about anywhere and the 32 oz bottle for around $10.00. So, if you only use quick detailer every once in a while. That’s perfectly affordable.

However, the largest container of Meguiar’s Quik Detailer you can buy is 32oz. If you use quick detailer often, buying 32 ounces at a time gets expensive quick. That’s when buying a full gallon of quick detailer for $30 makes it all that much cheaper. Yup, that’s a full 128 oz for 3 times the cost of a 32 ounce bottle of Meguiar’s Quik Detailer x 3 equals 96 ounces ($10 x 3 = $30). You could be getting an extra 32 ounces (128 ounces) for those same $30 if you buy a gallon.
