Of course, the main reason to share it’s because it’s amazing. However, there’s more to that. At least from my point of view. See, there are other similar cars on the market. Some have been around longer. Some of the cars that fit into the BAC Mono market are the Ariel Atom, the KTM X-Bow and the Polaris Slingshot.

Ah, but see, the BAC Mono is set apart thanks to one very good reason – It’s actually dang good-looking. Actually, the BAC Mono is downright sexy.

I’m not here to tell you about numbers. You can look those up right now, just as easily. I’m just here to tell you how sexy this car is. If you haven’t seen one in person, trust me the photos don’t do it justice. Furthermore, even in photos it still looks better than any other open wheel car out there short of an F1 car.

The lines are absolutely beautiful. The way the matte carbon fiber panels flow and mix with the black and white panels is something else. You could literally spend hours just looking at all the little details. What’s more is, I’ve had a chance to carefully inspect this car on multiple dates and I still don’t get tired of looking at it.

The BAC Mono’s competition simply can’t stand up in terms of looks. Yeah, they might perform, I don’t know. But I’m talking strictly looks. The Ariel Atom looks like a rustic tube frame tub. Yeah, this is fine. Plenty of other exo-skeleton cars exist, including some very well performing Miata-based exo frame cars. But, they just don’t look that great.

Then, both the KTM X-Box and the Polaris Slingshot look like they came straight out of a Transformers movie. I don’t like that robotic Transformers style of design. It’s simply not timeless. GM has used a lot of those styling cues in the interior and exterior of some of their cars. I just think that eventually people are going to get tired of that kind of design. In 10 years we’ll be like, “Oh, that doesn’t look that great.”

Ok, fine. I’m going to give you a few specs before I close this story.

The car weighs 1,278 Lbs. Yeah, that’s 1000 pounds less than an NA Miata. The BAC Mono can be spec’d to have 305 BHP. At that weight, that’s tons of horsepower. The engine features Cosworth forged pistons in a 4-cylinder configuration with 2488cc displacement. That’s 2.5 Liters by the way. The body itself is all lightweight carbon fiber and foam sandwich. Believe it or not, it does have a side impact protection structure.

This is the BAC Mono. By far, the most beautiful open-wheel sports car in existence short of an F1 car. There are many open wheel cars on the market. They don’t look like this.

[4
71
